Sixteenth Century Wire Frame Headdresses with Jane Smith

Sixteenth Century Wire Frame Headdresses (work in progress by Jeanette Sendler)

This unique and exceptional masterclass with world famous hatter Jane Smith will introduce you to the history and beauty of sixteenth century headgear, both in England and in Europe. You will learn to construct wire frame headdresses as drawn by Hans Holbein at the court of Henry VIII. Using wire together with buckram as a base, you will cover your authentic headpiece using fine fabrics such as damask and taffeta, and period pleated linen or cotton as a trim.

Price: £385 plus £5 per day lunch (optional)
